Oneonta Addresses Opioid Overdoses with New Initiative

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Julie Dostal is the executive director of the Leaf Council on Alcoholism and Addictions.

Their job as a prevention agency is to stop a problem before it ever starts.

That includes substance prevention. That’s not always possible, however, so they’ve worked with a West Virginia not-for-profit to come up with what they’re calling the ONEbox.

"This box is just what people can grab when someone is having an opioid emergency, and a life can be saved in 60 seconds," Dostal said.
